History

Over almost 70 years of consistent growth and values dissemination, J&F – present in more than 190 countries and with more than 267,000 employees – has noticed the need to concentrate its expertise to develop an initiative that, without disassociating itself from the business, would also fulfill a social role.

And, as a response to this need, it was in 2008 that, still as president of JBS, Joesley Batista idealized the J&F Institute in 2008.

Through the Institute, Joesley’s purpose was to enhance a project focused on excellence in education. However, not in any line of education, but rather an education project focused on business.

A story that was born to be connected to the business

2009-2012

The first phase corresponds exclusively to Germinare BUSINESS, a Basic Education school, opened in 2010, aimed at students between the 6th year of Elementary School and the 3rd year of High School, whose guidelines were centered on entrepreneurship.

2013 – 2015

In the second one, the Administration course and its respective disciplines were incorporated into the Germinare BUSINESS curriculum, transforming it into a technical school. On that occasion, a team focused on the content from major business schools in the country was responsible for adapting this curriculum for Basic Education.

2015

In the third phase, the institution began a School-Business approach, in which Company employees became students´ tutors and contributed to classes through their own professional experience. Also, in that same year, students started sales internships in high school, which gradually evolved into an internship journey at the Group’s companies, each with a specific development aim.

2019

The J&F Institute fourth phase was marked by another important step in 2019, when pillar managers were nominated. Each pillar, then, represented a discipline and a company: Marketing was represented by Seara; Product, by Flora; Retail, by Swift; Operations, by Friboi; Controllership and People, by JBS; Finance, by Banco Original; and Technology, by PicPay.

2021

The pillars evolution culminated in the formation of the Business Academies, with the arrival of the Business Directors in 2021, this way marking its fifth phase: the Retail Academy, the Commodities Academy, the Brands Academy, the Digital Business and Finance, each according to its specificities, consolidating the teaching model of the BUSINESS School. That same year, we also expanded the activities of the J&F Institute, starting the J&F Community Institute Project.

2022

In its sixth phase, 2022 was a year of intensification in the J&F Institute actions, with the start of activities at the J&F Family Institute, the Family School; the opening of yet another technical school, Germinare TECH, aimed at training developers of business-oriented systems, and the beginning of the admission process for the Germinare VET school, focused on training Veterinary technicians. In addition, the J&F Institute started the MEC authorization process for the Higher Education Institution.

2023

Finally, reaching its seventh and final phase so far, the J&F Institute, Business Education Center, is committed to supporting the transformation of Businesses into educating companies.

Por meio dessa evolução contínua desde 2010, o Instituto J&F segue avançando ano a ano no seu objetivo de se consolidar como um Centro de Educação para os Negócios. E, em 2023 não está sendo diferente: por meio da educação, seguimos ensinando de forma bem-sucedida o nosso jeito de fazer negócios, conquistando resultados cada vez mais expressivos e que, ao fim, atestam que não há melhor estratégia do que seguir a nossa própria cultura – o maior e mais efetivo plano de execução com que poderíamos contar.

Além disso, também em 2023, o Instituto amplia a sua proposta original para dar origem a um movimento grandioso: o movimento de empresas educadoras, no qual apoia os negócios para que eles não apenas incentivem a educação, mas também a insiram em sua própria estratégia de crescimento.
